Prologue: The Way Back Home I. Prologue

"Papa! My balloon!" Cried a seven year old boy as he pointed to his red balloon, rising to the heavens.
The little boy’s father brought him over from the city to watch the parade. Streamers and confetti were everywhere, and the occasional blimp flew in the sky.
“Are they there yet? Are they?” Asked the little boy.
“Yes, son, the parade is here.” The father chuckled.
The first parade float came around the bend on the street accompanied by the music of trumpets, drums, xylophones and a marching band. On the parade float were old war veterans in their military uniforms. Some of them were in wheelcPrologue: The Way Back Home by ~Yaxley

Okay. Just saying.
But I'm not dead, anyway.

But I'm just curious.

Do you think people really accept death before they actually have to face it?
Because I think that we don't really know what we're up against.
How much time or effort we spend trying to "accept" it still hits us hard when it comes.

Then again, maybe it's the flu speaking. *shrugs*
